Staff Analysis of the Legislation
This legislation authorizes the state to issue driver's licenses in "electronic format" to be presented and viewed upon a wireless telecommunications device.  If a person gets pulled over by law enforcement officer and displays this electronic driver's license, the person does not provide consent for the officer to search their device.
